Legend/Sabaka Litter - July, 2010

Cloudburst Chinooks is immensely proud of this breeding because it is a collaboration between the two lines in our kennel. Joann Blackman owns Cloudburst Wonalancet (Legend), a grandson of our foundation bitch, WoodsRunner Alyeska. Donna Canfield owns Cloudburst RailRun Sabaka, and great granddaughter of Alyeska. She is their only common relative. Their pedigrees are available.

Both stud and bitch are Grand Champions, have OFA Excellent hips, CERF clear eyes, and are free of disease. Legend has sired two previous litters; this is Sabaka’s first.

My warmest thanks to my devoted "mid-wives in waiting," Richalene Kelsay and Elaine Bradbury. Litter names for this group honor my best friend since age nine, Nancy Street, whose nickname is “Bug” and who loves butterflies. We call it the Love Bug litter.

Velvet

VELVET (red), a 16 ounce black-and-tan male, was first born. When he stuck his head out and looked around, he kept his shoulders tightly squeezed in place as long as possible.

Hopper

HOPPER (yellow), a 15 ounce tawny boy, was breach, but popped easily into the world seriously hungry.

Cricket

CRICKET (green), seemed small at 12 ounces, but was mewing and sucking on a finger before she was dry.

Luna

LUNA (pink), our second girl at 14 ounces, all but walked out of mom, head held high and tail wagging like a flag. She’s a voracious feeder.

Monarch

MONARCH (orange), Velvet’s twin black-and-tan brother, barreled into the world at 16 ounces.

Gypsy

GYPSY (teal), the final girl was a ravenous 16 ounces.

Viceroy

VICEROY (silver), at 12 ounces and his brother to follow huddled inside mom for ten more hours before facing the world.

mission

MISSION (gold) at 8 ounces marched solidly to his destiny and has been in motion almost constantly.
